<![CDATA[Student Support Site]]> <![CDATA[Accessing Course Materials]]> Once you’re logged into your student portal, to access your course materials, please click on the 'My Courses' box and a drop down section will appear on the right side should say ‘Course dashboard’ if you click on this it will redirect you to another page. On here you should find your course material, resources, contact tutor, etc.

]]> <![CDATA[Assignment Feedback]]> Our commitment is to ensure your feedback is with you within 10 working days (2 for those on the fast track service). Please wait until this time, prior to getting in touch, as assignments are marked in the order they are received.

]]> <![CDATA[Formatting assignments]]> Your work should be written in essay format with references to wider reading (a referencing guide is provided on the student portal under resources). We would ask that you take note of the level of your course and take this on board when writing your work. For example, a level 4 course will be different to that of a level 2 course and your answers will need to show a higher level of understanding and depth in comparison. As a (very) rough guide, your tutor will be looking for at least a page per question.

All assignments must be completed in Microsoft Word or Works format using one document for al assignment questions. If using Works, you will need to change the page setup to A4 and not the standard letter format.

 The first page of your assignment must be the assignment submission sheet.

Which includes the following details:

  1. a) Your full name
  2. b) Your student number
  3. c) Your course name
  4. d) Your assignment number
  5. e) Your full postal address
  6. f) Date of submission

 

Subsequent pages should be numbered and display your name and student number.

 Your work should be written using Arial, size 12 font, 1.5 line spacing and be fully justified (even margins on both sides).

 Ensure that you number the question exactly as it is written out in the course and write out the question fully above each answer.  

A referencing guide has been provided for your convenience and is available through the student portal.  

Please look under the resources section on your dashboard, where you will be able to download this.

]]> <![CDATA[Logging into your student portal]]> To log into your student portal you will need to use the link provided on your welcome letter, this can be found either on the font cover of your course materials or by email when you first signed up to your course.

The first time you log in your username will be your email address and your password will be your surname. Once you’re in you will be prompted till in the registration form this requires a new password and security question.

]]> <![CDATA[Starting your course]]> We recommend that you first start by reading through the course materials, like a book, as this will help to give you a good understanding of the course content / topics covered and the way the course is presented.

You can start your assignments at any time and there are no specific deadlines for each of these - you can submit them to your tutor for marking at any time during your tutor support period (usually 6 or 12 months).

Within the student portal you will also find a recommended reading list.  It is not compulsory that you buy these but you may find them helpful as a starting point for wider reading and research.

You will need to submit your assignments to your tutor for marking, one at a time and in numerical order.
